Public Enemies

Some of my friends say it’s super cheesy and others say they get sleepy just thinking about the movie.Β  I though, enjoyed it quite a bit πŸ™‚Β  I mean with either Johnny or Christian in any one scene on big screen at any one time, what is there not to enjoy πŸ˜‰

And there’s something very alluring about that era.Β  I swear if I believed in past lives, one of mine would have to be alive and kicking during that time.Β  I simply love the fashion, the music, the cars … I’m not sure if I’d say the same thing if I was living in a less developed location of that time but somewhere in the quiet recesses of my mind I believe I was living it up either during 1920s/30s in New York or Shanghai :p

Maybe that’s why I didn’t feel that the movie was slow and was actually duly entertained.Β  Although, given how our senses are heightened so much with action flicks nowadays, the action sequences bordered on the boring side.Β  Nonetheless, Johnny Depp as John Dillinger managed to keep me enraptured with the thought of holding up banks and understanding why some women fall for bad boys.Β  In real life, I’m too much of a chicken and good guys are more my type.Β  I swear if Johnny Depp played Adolf Hilter, he’d still be able to make the audience sympathise with him too.Β  Yes, the man is that good.Β  That’s why I can’t wait to catch his rendition of the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

That would be a different ride altogether … …
