Dark Knight

Batman has always been the top of my list when it comes to superheroes. I even enjoyed the fun fluff movies when he was played by Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney; but ever since Batman Begins in 2005, I’m completely enthralled with Christian Bale’s take on the Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan takes it one step better especially with replacing the somewhat dead Katie Holmes with the ever captivating Maggie Gyllenhaal and of course, going with Heath Leadger for the Joker.

He could do no wrong … ok, there were a couple of cheesey lines but hey, it’s a comic book made alive, you can’t take it that seriously … ‘cept that was Mr Nolan’s intention. The Dark Knight was a rather serious commentary about the insanity that is going around the world. People being evil just for the sake of being evil and there’s no way to rationalise with them. He goes on further to ask the question about the very essence of being a human being, would you kill someone to save yourself?

Without spoiling the movie, I hope the average Joe can’t go through on that but in the 21st century, it’s mostly a hope. So I live for fantasy movies where I’m envious that Maggie Gyllenhaal gets to kiss BOTH Aaron Eckhart and Christian Bale … some girls get all the luck 😛

Hmmm … wonder if I can convince my husband that Batman is way cooler than Spiderman? Might I dare say, way sexier too 🙂
